Why go for a sim only option? Simcards cost the network a pittance in comparison to the expensive mobiles they often give away for free. This means the network can simply cut you off if you don’t pay your bills on time. This means less risk and a greater chance you will get approved. T Mobile has good acceptance rates on SOLO Sim Only Contracts

What to do if I still get refused for a mobile contract? As mentioned above, check your credit report and build up loyalty with your current network on pay as you go. You could also get a relative to apply in their name if you have a good trusting relationship.

Student tips for a bad credit mobile contract:

- Like our general advice the key is to sign up for a sim only contract which has less risk to the network providers meaning they are more likely to accept you.

- Having no credit history it maybe wise to take out a credit card even if you don’t intend on using it as this information maybe shared increasing your likelyhood of getting accepted.
